American International Protective Agency’s guards will be responsible for removing from the lobby or other areas of Hotel any persons who appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or who are acting in an inappropriate or threatening manner towards Hotel personnel or guests. Guards must not put themselves or other persons at risk, and are required to call the police immediately if they believe any such person to be armed and/or dangerous, or if there is more than one such person on the premises.

Security guards are responsible for removing from Hotel premises any materials or goods that they believe to be illegal, dangerous, harmful or objectionable or which may cause annoyance or disturbance to Hotel guests and visitors. If the guards on duty require assistance with such removal or if they believe the goods in question may be dangerous, the guards are required to call police immediately to remove the goods.

AIPA’S security guard on each shift will make hourly rounds on foot and perform the following specific tasks:

  • Verify that emergency exits and fire doors are closed and secured.
  • Verify that no smoke or fire is coming from any equipment or area of Hotel.
  • Verify that the parking areas are safe and secure; ensure that the loading zones, driveways and access areas are unobstructed and free of unauthorized vehicles and materials, and assist Hotel in removing the same if the owner of the items does not remove them within a reasonable time frame.
  • Verify that illegal entry into Hotel premises has not occurred or suspicious items have not been left on the site.
  • Record each round completion with times and comments.
  • Sign the keys out at the beginning and in at the end of each shift.
